Give Us This Day
Give us this day our daily bread
Pray about your needs. This is your opportunity to tell God your needs. He already knows your needs but you need to "make your requests known to God." James 4:3 tells us we "do not receive, because [we] ask with wrong motives." God wants to and is able to provide for our needs, for our ministry, and for our families. But I am convinced God will not provide anything that will not glorify His name. As a parent I never gave my kids a "pony" or anything else I thought would be harmful to them. How much more does our Heavenly Father care about us.
James 4:3 NIV
When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Proverbs 30:7-9 NIV84
"Two things I ask of you, O LORD; do not refuse me before I die: [8] Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread. [9] Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, 'Who is the LORD?' Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.
But I do pray for enough money so that I can be generous when I see a need. And I do pray for sufficient resources to be able to live my life without financial worries.
Pray for material things you desire. It is not wrong to pray for our physical and emotional needs.
A car, clothing, a home, a vacation
Pray about sources of anxiety
Loneliness, savings, job worries, health, giving, our children, or ministries we are involved with.
Kingdom prosperity and success - Bless any ministry your are involved with.
Help to meet the conditions of provision. Romans 12:1-2, John 15:7, Proverbs 12:11
Our daily tasks. Psalms 37:5 "Commit your way to the Lord"
Pray for yourself and your family make list. I find it useful to write down the things I am praying for and to cross them off when God provides.
